The Serial Decision Maker
Real conversations about consequential choices
Good decision-making is at the heart of living a good life—but that doesn’t mean every decision comes with a clear or perfect answer.
The Serial Decision Maker features real conversations about the consequential choices that shape our careers, relationships, finances, families, and futures.
Drawing from decades of leadership experience and an extensive body of writing, Scott Arney examines the process beneath the choice: what we are really deciding, which factors are influencing us, what information matters, what we can control, and what may be keeping us from moving forward.
From first careers, homes, credit cards, and investments to adversity, self-esteem, family life, retirement, and even the fear of succeeding, each episode offers practical questions and perspectives—not prescribed answers.
The goal is to help people of all ages and backgrounds approach decisions more deliberately, become better advocates for themselves, and take greater ownership of what comes next.

Host
Scott Arney has spent his career helping people navigate decisions that can shape their financial well-being, professional lives, families, and futures. As CEO of National Police Federal Credit Union, he has led with a belief that people make stronger decisions when they have useful information, ask better questions, and advocate for themselves.
Scott is also the author of more than 150 articles exploring leadership, finances, family, adversity, personal growth, and the everyday experiences that influence the choices we make. Through relatable stories from his life as a business leader, husband, father, and lifelong learner, he has developed a thoughtful approach to decision-making grounded in preparation, perspective, personal responsibility, and controlling what we can control.
On The Serial Decision Maker, Scott doesn’t tell listeners what to decide. Through honest conversation and reflection, he helps them examine how they make decisions, recognize what may be influencing them, and consider what they can learn from the outcomes—because even the best process does not guarantee the outcome we hoped for, but every outcome can help inform what comes next.
